At certain moments, while watching a scene from a program broadcast by Palestinian television on October 25 of last year, it is difficult to believe that this is the official television channel of the Palestinian Authority and the PLO, and not that of Hamas or the Islamic Jihad.

And yet, the program in question features a "field report" by Palestinian television from Tulkarem, in order to relate the wonders of the master terrorist Abbas a-Said, who is jailed in Israel and was sentenced to 35 life sentences.

This is a man who was considered at the beginning of the previous decade the head of the military wing of Hamas in the town, and responsible for two of the harshest suicide bombings Israel has ever known, including the attack on the Park Hotel in Netanya and on the night of the Passover Seder in 2002.

The reporter, who works at a program dedicated to the families of prisoners, did not spare the superlatives: "We are outside the home of the warrior hero, the commander, the lion of the prison, Abbas a-Said."

Zilberdik claims that the incitement in the Palestinian media is not revealed in the Israeli media, and certainly not in the international media. “The international community is not aware of the glorification of terrorists or Holocaust denial in the Palestinian media. It is easier to check whether there is building in the settlements than it is to track incitement on the side of the Palestinians. I do not identify with the right-wing in terms of politics. When I arrived in Israel from Denmark I voted for Meretz. But it is impossible to ignore what is happening in the Palestinian media. There is no education toward peace or even a discussion of such issues. The only thing that is heard is that they “will not give up.” That is all.”

Oh, well..

Seems like it all started with Irgun Stern hagana jewish zionist terror groups and other similar ones. The curse of first terrorist and terrorism created by them has spread in Middle-east in many forms and continues till this day. No wonder all those initial terrorist and their offspring or have been in the high offices of Israeli government for so many years now. The flames of that fire keep burning and spread all over the place.

This is a seed about PA media. Why are you trying to hijack it and divert it to your agenda of hate.

agenda of hate.

agenda of hate? how so? by mentioning that Palestinians weren't the first terrorists? maybe you should not talk about what another's agenda is without having your own agenda called into question...

Seems the only agenda of hate here is your own. Furthermore, the only one hijacking the seed is you. Ever notice how you are unable to debate a topic without resorting to your games and petty insults?

Israel is here to stay. And if they are here to stay, all who refuse to do the things that bring peace will one day go away to the place assigned to them for eternity.

I have to wonder how it is absolutely lost on the Arab world, the Palestinians and the "useful infidels" that no matter what they do, Israel prevails. Since 1947, Israel has always prevailed. You'd think they'd get a clue sooner or later, and seek peace.

Back so fast? nicely done, but please try to stay on-topic in the future, address the seeded article. seriously, If Haaretz were able to do it, shouldn't be that difficult for the rest of us.

Perhaps a more on topic subject would be a comparison of the Pali media with the Israeli media . From the article it is clear that the Pali media do go about glorifying murderous acts by their fellows . I doubt the same could be
said of the Israeli media . This is a far more fruitful discussion than whining : " But he started it .... last century " .

An agenda? Explains the selectivity of your own seeds.

By their actions, they are exhibiting their true colors.

These same actions are committed by Israel and Israelis...

Hippo,

An agenda? Explains the selectivity of your own seeds.

This isn't the place nor the time to discuss whatever you're referring to there.

Please stay on topic. if you wish to discuss other, off topic issues do it on your own column.

Thanks.

How about posting a link where

Again, this isn't the place nor the time to discuss whatever issues you have with other posters. do it on your own seeds, column. your off-topic comment has been deleted, please address the seeded article, not the topic you wish to discuss at this point in time.

please address the seeded article,

I'm responding to a comment that also is not about this seed.

Artie is using similar examples of Palestinians honoring terrorists as a way to defame Palestinians in general, without actually making use of the example in this seed. If the same actions are done by Israelis then his position is without merit. A fair and balanced view of this conflict would see villains on both sides, not just on one side. If this seed is solely about defaming Palestinians or allowing such conclusion to be drawn, then I guess my comment was off-topic. I thought I was bringing light to the hypocrisy of those wishing to blame only one side by making it known that this kind of terrorist honoring is not limited to just one side of this conflict

This is not the first time Palestinian Television has broadcasted this kind of hero worship nonsense. That it has ties to the PA is concerning and that nothing is done to curb this behavior is even worse. Sometimes they show intelligence, like when the PA stopped the naming of a street after a terrorist, but other times they seem as inept as their counterpart.

How long will we be expected to believe the Pal Arabs are capable of modernity? Very long, because their leadership and their mantra is predicated on hatred and violence.

To raise and indoctrinate children to hate and kill is evil beyond evil. In these muslim countries they actually have cartoons for children, advocating hating and killing Jews.

Usually, I overlook PMW as they are extremely biased. If Issacharoff feels the need to report on it, however, then the issue definitely merits consideration.

The PA's media has gotten to point of ridiculousness. They should probably focus on creating jobs for Palestinians.

Avi actually addressed that point in the article.

Agreed regarding the PA, its media, and where their focus is most needed right about now.
